What is Zimbabwe for Jesus?

Zimbabwe for Jesus is a not-for-profit Christian trust operating as a para-church organisation. Founded in 2003, our mandate is simple yet powerful: to preach the gospel, make disciples, and help establish strong, Bible-based churches across Zimbabwe

We partner with churches across Zimbabwe to preach the gospel, make disciples, and serve communities in need—equipping believers to live by God’s Word, walk in the Spirit, and impact the nation for Christ.

To see the Church of Jesus Christ in Zimbabwe rooted in truth, walking in the Spirit, and serving the Lord effectively.

Zimbabwe for Jesus is a long-standing member of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe (EFZ) and an official ministry partner with the EFZ’s Evangelism, Church-planting, and Discipleship Commission.

In November 2015, EFZ honoured us with a Special Appreciation Award for our outstanding partnership and service to the church in Zimbabwe. (The EFZ is a fellowship of over 500 Evangelical Denominations and Ministries in Zimbabwe.)

Our Story

Since 2003, we have taken the gospel to both rural and urban communities through evangelistic campaigns, pastor’s conferences, seminars, workshops, and church-strengthening events. At these gatherings, we have also distributed tracts, books, and Bibles—freely sowing God’s Word.

  • Thousands have come to Christ and been baptised.

  • New churches have been planted in previously unreached areas.

  • Miracles have attested to God's power and the truthfulness of the Bible.

  • Leaders have been equipped with sound doctrine and ministry skills.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testament, consisting of 66 books, as originally given by God to be divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant, and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3.16; 2 Peter 1.21-22; Psalms 119.105; Acts 17.11; Luke 11.28)

We believe in God the Father, the only true sovereign, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen nor can see; eternal, immutable, omnipresent, omniscient, and almighty, from whom and for whom all things exist. (1 Timothy 6.15-16; James 1.17; Psalms 139.1-16; 1 Corinthians 8.6; Hebrews 2.10; Revelation 4.11; Ephesians 4.6)

We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten not made, of the same essence as the Father, true God from true God. Through him and for him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven; he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and was made human. We believe in his sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, his bodily resurrection, his ascension, his mediatorial work, and his personal return in power and glory to judge both the living and the dead. His kingdom will never end. (John 3.16; Colossians 2:9; Colossians 1.16; Luke 1.30-35; Isaiah 7:14; Hebrews 4:15; Acts 2:22; 1 Corinthians 15.3-8; 1 Peter 3:18; Romans 4.25; Acts 1.9-11; 1 Timothy 2:5; Matthew 24.30-31; Acts 10.42; Luke 1.33)

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life. He proceeds from the Father through the Son, and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified. He spoke through the prophets and gave us the Scriptures. His work is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, convict the world of sin, regenerate the sinner believing in Christ, and to indwell the believer sanctifying him through the truth and enabling him to live a holy life and to witness and work for Christ. (2 Corinthians 3.17; John 6:63; Acts 2.33; John 15.26; Matthew 28.19; 2 Peter 1.20-21; John 16.13-15; John16:8; John 3.5-6; Titus 3.3-6; Romans 8:9; 2 Thessalonians 2.13; John 17.17; 1 Peter 1:2; Acts 1:8)

We believe in one holy universal church built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets and composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, having been regenerated by the Holy Spirit, are spiritually united in the body of Christ, whose Head is Christ. We believe in the local church as the visible expression of the spiritual, universal church; its membership being composed of regenerated and baptized believers who bear witness together of Christ and minister one to another as they are enabled by the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 16.18; ; Ephesians 2.14-22; Ephesians 1.22-23; Acts 2:41, 47; 1 Corinthians 12:24,27; Colossians 1:18; I Corinthians 12:13; I Corinthians 1:12; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31)

We believe that humanity was created, male and female, in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, became alienated from God and incurred physical death. We believe that all humans are born with a sinful nature demonstrated in thought, word and deed, are unrighteous in an absolute sense, and can only accomplish relative good. We believe that man is lost and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. As such all people are absolutely dependant on the mercy of God for salvation (Genesis. 1:26-27; Romans 1:18-32; 3:10-24; 5:12-14; 6:33; Ephesians 2:1-3; Romans 3.23; 11.32)

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone as recorded in Scripture alone for the glory of God alone, and that no man can be saved through trying to keep the law or through his own acts of righteousness. We believe that through faith in Jesus Christ people gain access into the grace of God: the forgiveness of sin, justification, and sanctification, and are adopted as sons of God. We believe that those who do not have faith in Jesus Christ and trust solely in His atoning work for salvation will die in their sins. (Ephesians 2.8-9; Romans 3.19-26; 5.1-2; Acts 13.38-39; Acts 26.18; John 1.12; Galatians 3.26; Ephesians 1.5; John 8.24)

We believe that though works are worthless for salvation, those who have been born-again will exhibit works, or, fruit, of that regeneration. (Isaiah 64:6; 1 John 3.9; Ephesians 2:10; Galatians 5.22-24)

We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. Penitent believers, who, through faith, regeneration, and the renewing of the Holy Spirit, are made one with Christ, must, upon the affirmation of biblical faith, be baptized with water, in the most worthy name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, according to the command of Christ, and the teaching, example, and practice of the apostles, to the burying of their sins, and thus be brought into the fellowship of the saints; hereafter to learn to observe all things which the Son of God has taught and commanded His disciples. (Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:4; Mark 16:16; Matthew 3:15; Acts 8:16; 9:18; 10:47; 16:33; Colossians 2:11-12; Acts 22.16)

We believe that the Lord’s Supper which was instituted by Him on the night He was betrayed, is to be observed in His churches until He comes, in remembrance of Him, as a declaration of his death and a confirmation of the believer’s faith in all its benefits, for their spiritual nourishment and growth in him, and their renewed commitment to live out their responsibilities toward God and one another. (1Corinthians 11:23-26; 1Corinthians 10:16-17,21)

We believe in the physical resurrection of the dead, both the righteous and the wicked, the glorification of God’s holy people, who will forever reign together with Him; and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the unsaved who will be separated from God eternally. (Acts 24:14-15; John 5:24-29; Romans 8.18, 29-30; Revelation 22.3-5; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 21:8; 14.11)
